A deep water solo mini adventure (S1)
Approach: park up in Tynham car park, walk down to Worbarrow beach and head west until the beach stops and the rock takes over. The route is a sea level traverse along this headland for 400m into Arish Mell hidden cove.
Access: Only open weekends, MOD access Mon-Fri. Take a dry bag as one section requires a swim accross a zawn. Hide tide and no SW swell essential.
Route: Climb west 2 metres above the sea. Climb easily over initial headland into a recessed bay, climb the crimpy wall above a shallow reef (crux-S1)to easier ground. Bumble along for 100m before encountering another bay, climb the low level sea wall on huge jugs until you reach an amazing cave. Here you have two options; option 1 - climb the stunning 45 degree roof on massive holds exit and head back to sea level via exit slab or option 2 - venture deep into the back of the zawn and out of the far side via a trickly mantle move on a slab (crux 2). Jump in and swim accross a twin zawn to reach the final slabby wall and follow this into Arish Mell beach. Walk back over the hill to car park.
