Going Underground** E2 5c
Follows the slanting rampline to the R. of Anal Abuse etc. Start up the rib as for that route and at its top break out R. along the slabby ramp. Follow this to its end with continuous interest then make difficult moves past the last two bolts to finish. Retrobolted.

Seconded after getting pumped out at the last couple of bolts on lead. Stiff at the grade.
Petarghh - 2nd - 29/Jul/15

Some strange moves. Sustained at the grade with 3 or 4 stiff moves all the way to the top. Carried gear but apart from one cam under the niche/roof, didn't place anything else. The bolts look ok to me, the main worry was rope drag on sharp edges but was fine with plenty of extenders.
farmus21 - Lead - 29/Jul/15 with Peter Hill

Felt hard for 6b. The moves to gain the last bolt were desperate.

the bolts are some what old and rusty and it made it definitely feel more like a trad route than a sport.and there is no way its 6a+ as it says in the frcc book.it was 6b/+ if you were to give it a sport grade which works out as the correct translation of English 5c anyway! However it was an awesome route of great character!

Very good route and technical. F6b.

cooperman - 2nd O/S - 22/Jul/12 with Tim Whiteley

Failed on the last move, but lots of really cool but hard moves to get there. Harder than 6a+ i'd say.
HIGHTOWER - Lead dnf - 01/May/11 with Lee Wales

Guide says F6a+, but at least 6b and very sustained. But since I carried gear, placed gear and scared myself, I'm claiming E2 !
Chris the Tall - Lead O/S - 03/Jul/10 with Woody

Sgt. Vest - 2nd O/S - 03/Jul/10 with chris moor

No way it's E2 5c because there's loads of bolts in it. It's actually given a sport grade in the selected guide: F6a+. I'd say it's more like F6b in my opinion. I backed up some of the bolts with wires on this ascent and also used a sling over a spike, as I didn't like the look of some of the bolts. By the way, it's a FANTASTIC climb! With many and varied weird positions and moves that you'd only find on slate! Highly recommended.
