An impressive route through the overhangs with some unusual moves. Start in a slabby corner R. of Hot Pies etc. Climb the corner and pull out R. past a bolt to reach a ledge and good spike. Move up L. across a slab and make a hard move up into a hanging groove (bolt). Step R. (bolt) and make a long blind reach over the next roof for a good hold. Throw caution to the wind and haul over the roof past another bolt to gain easier ground. Move up and R. past a slot to gain the easier finishing groove.

Great route, looked at it for years, went sweet! The pocket is quite high up stretch!...Becks belayed then I stripped it. Showers/Midges. We re bolted this along with several other routes/abseil points for groups to use, as the 'old' bolts were just that...old. In response to somebody else's comment about bringing the grade down to E1/E2, my response is if you knew just how far the 'old' bolts weren't in then the original E3 grade might as well have been E silly, as a fall could have resulted in ripping them out. (hardly in...) if your that obsessed about making it pure my advice would be to not clip the 'new' bolts and use some of the existing 'old' ones and use natural pro (lot's of by the way if you look). Me personally, I clipped the 'new' bolts and loved every minute of it! Knowing that they were 6" into the rock rather that the previous 1/2" decide ;-) A fine route.

Clipped the bolt abopve the crux but fell off while placing the rope through it, took a whipper and scraped my hand. Wish I could have found that amazing pocket just below the bolt. Thought better of it- to be saved for another day. Had to ab off the top to collect the quick draws as no-one else fancied it.

An excellent route, the cheeky pocket was tricky to find. Good climbing throughout and the sun had his hat on :)

agree with the e1/2 grade. only 5 bolts on the route as far as i remember but they protect the harder moves. really enjoyed it

not sure how it was before, but unfortunately not e3 with the number of bolts in it now

Did in 2 pitches to reduce rope drag and try to save some time. In the end it didn't save time and i was more psyched to do 'An Alabuse' after discovering, Darklands E1/2 nature.

NOT E3. In fact, I've since spoken to the first ascentionist and he has confirmed that more bolts have been put in since he put it up. Originally, he graded it E4 and the grade settled to E3 after a few repeats. Since then, more bolts have been put in. Whoever put those extra bolts in did wrong. Totally unnecessary.
