Great climb. Perfect balance got harder and more exposed until the top 3/4 and then a nice easy top out to stunning view. Judging by other comments january was a good time to do it with hardly any guarno bird shit in the chimneys :) Day was perfect with sun setting in front of the crag, no wind and moon in front of the crag for the climb off the tower!

Atmospheric: sea chasing in had us at a gallop up slightly harder direct start until, ay up, seagulls and chicks and fish bones and guano guano everywhere. Yet one of the finest routes I've ever experienced.

Alan had just led the first pitch when a wave came rolling in that blocked out the horizon! I legged it up the first pitch as it came ever closer. I got to within 10ft of the belay, with Alan just taking the rope in hand over hand, as the wave hit the rock. Massive noise and the boiling foamy water came to within a few feet of me! Just ten mins earlier we had been sat on the rocks at the bottom eating a sandwich, without a care in the world. Oh, and then we ended up finishing in the dark... What a day!
