Rach fell in the chimney, gear ripped, she landed on me, my head landed on a rock, trip to Leeds A & E, 6 staples in the back of my head. Lesson: belayers should wear helmets, even at grit crags. Obvious? Seems so now. Lucky it wasn't worse. Massive thanks to the boulderer who helped bandage me up.

Awkward up the chimney!couldn`t get the no 1 wire out Geoff had placed.spent about 25 mins trying to get it whilst Geoff was freezing at the top! ist runner i`ve ever had to leave,felt really bad.(even more so as it was MY wire! ha ha) Tom is now on a mission to remove the now knackered wire,so as not to continue to deface the climb.

Small wires very usefl in the chimney and at the block. No.s 3.5 and 4 friends make the crack easily protectable. All you need are these friends and a rack of wires. DO READ THE GUDEBOOK for its advice on style of ascent!!

What a climb the bottom section is an classic chimney climbing knees in you chin job. Then the route becomes a classic grit stone crack to the top.

Mick started this one but backed off leaving 2 bits of gear low down in Square Chimney, clipped those and finished ok. Back and footing to start and then steep jamming to finish - didn't use the block to get established in Whiskey Crack.

After a bit of twisting and turning, I finally worked out how to back and foot the chimney and realised I could do this the whole way up. After struggling with whiskey crack until my arms were pumped solid, I set up a belay and handed over the lead to Peri. Great route but strenuous and tricky moves in a few places.

Quite desperate really. Felt off balance in the first crack. Once realised you had to use your back and foot (read the guide!) then was ok, but the fun didn't finish there; in the whisky crack was pumping badly and fumbling protection in the form of a hex into the crack whilst fist jammed in and teetering on toes. When safe felt remarkably at ease, amazing the diference, and did the rest relatively easily. Excellent climb, thoroughly enjoyed and relieved to finish safely.

Had been eyeing up this all day! After a chill out I decided to just go for it. Had been sitting around for quite a while with Will Hunt, his mate and Gareth so was getting a bit cold in the wind! Luckily, Gareth had a set (or two!) of micronuts which deffonately came in handy in the bottom section which I'm not sure I would have commited to if it wasn't for them. The bottom has some really interesting tricky back and footing, leading to a rest, some gear, and a swing out right onto the arete, one more tricky move and you're up onto the ledge, lovely, favourite back and footing I've done. Second (erm.... pitch?) is total contrast. Really pumpy with no real rests. I couldn't see what the guide ment by approaching from the left so I took it direct by a few tricky jamming moves. I placed tonnes of gear (why? I'm a big scardey cat) which led to me getting a pump on. A few tricky moves and up into a very poor rest pumping out. I slammed in some more gear in the top crack as quick as I could (FEEET ALAN, FEET!) which wasn't very quick. Almost pumping out the the extent of needing a rest by now but I had bomber gear and decided just to go for it. Top crack has steep, but perfect jams which is a relief after the horrible rest I decided to spend my time in. Top out into the wind again onto the flutes at the top, absolutely wonderful! Again maybe one of my favouite routes! 3 stars certainly. Spent a while woffling trying to find a extra decent belay incase the other struggled, which evidently they didn't. Did the first part elegently, and the top section thuggy. Wondering if I was just missing the foot holds, or maybe not foot jamming? Whatever I did it shouldn't have been that hard! Do this climb!

Did it for the third time, great route, awesome protection. The chimney at the starts great fun. Probably HS or MVS and only 4B VS goes a bit far due to the quality of the pro and it being not to sustained.

A marvellous climb. Chimbney was great, though only a few moves, followed by clinging on and moving up as best as can be managed. After all that, the crack looms. The jamming was a bit more like finding the secret holds and pockets in the crack. Good fun.
