A steep but juggy pitch which travels through some wild territory at the grade. Start beneath the jutting block at the overhang's widest point. Climb up to the block overhang and pull out across the roof on massive holds and with excellent gear, to a grassy ledge (possible belay). From the right-hand side of the ledge, continue up the face above, heading slightly rightwards and then back left. © Rockfax

Just as sun was setting. Probably should have put in more (some) gear going over the roof.
Excellent lead by Hamish, lovely steep route for the grade.
Wonderful! Almost fell off on the step across section but managed to hang on.

Led overhang. Split into two pitches due to high wind and communication difficulties

1st pitch only. Eleanor injured her hand pulling round the blocks. Abbed.
Lent a cam by some lovely fellow climbers, as well as brioche. Cool lanky overhang move!
Had to climb to retrieve gear after an unfortunate incident involving a popped cam. Would have been a lovely climb if not for the circumstances.
Lead the first pitch with (a lot of) beta from Duncan

Always a pleasure. Route is very wild for the grade!
Couldn't ask for a better first HVS, loved it!
A bit of mizzle around, with Chris and Simon, bold lead.
So much fun, wild moves pulling through the overhangs!
Found a nut left on this route; message me if you think it is yours. Led pitch 2/2.

Lead as one pitch this time - first time leading the overhang at the bottom. Cool moves that weren't as bad as i was expecting once you commit to getting out on the face
got pumped and took a rest. went too far right instead of heading straight up for the jugs. Loved it though
|Matt Amos||24/Aug/14||Lead O/S||
Came back after a rather shody cold lead of it a few days earlier, and got it first time. It's a cracking climb!
|Matthew Martin Wsm||23/Aug/14||2nd||
found first pitch strenuous, will return to do it clean!
|Matt Amos||21/Aug/14||Lead dog||
Found this very hard, but with a good sequence of moves.
Good climb large holds on first part of climb with good balance and technique on the face.
|Tom Seccombe||05/Aug/14||Lead O/S||
Finally got the chance to lead first pitch. . Pleased as
Pete lead first pitch - it went dark and windy as he bridged over and took the bold move! I enjoyed second pitch of rounded granite.
Nick Stephens, Jay Jackson
awesome.. v windy, both slings protecting the roof blew off
On 3rd attemt
|Ewan Russell||10/Jul/14||2nd O/S||
Lovely delicate top part of the route after the ledge
found this very intimidating even though not that technically hard.
In the bag. Unfortunately fell on the crux after pulling through as my rope pulled on the block on my first attempt (annoying). Got It clean second time around.

Unelegant bellyflop on one of the flakes! Next time I'll try a more direct approach

A lot easier than I thought it would be.... definitely. Looks the part and correctly graded... fab climbijg

Feel like a hero pulling through the roof section!
First HVS, awesome :) just find the jugs...
Fine, knew I had to keep moving at the overhangs and so didn't place gear after the initial couple of pieces. Jugs though, not hard climbing really. Really easy after that. Think Hamish could lead this one.
Made harder by getting one of the ropes caught under the base of the overhang and had to hang around for a while to free it with a foot. Nice climb, jugtastic.
|Lumbering Oaf||04/May/14||2nd O/S||
Just keep going....
|Martin Bagshaw||04/May/14||2nd O/S||
really nice interesting and contrasting climbing
A fun pitch, although I was happy to Join the line of people following Robert up rather than leading it myself.
Lead the brutal first pitch. Placing gear made it very pumpy
|Rob Laird||03/May/14||2nd O/S|
|Rafal Malczyk||02/May/14||2nd O/S||
Intended to do as a single pitch, however a lapse of concentration lead to an un-extended cam just passed the crux causing too much rope drag to get passed the optional belay ledge.
Fantastic route, really enjoyed it!
|luke inappropriate janner||19/Apr/14||2nd β||
In one pitch, placed too much gear and lots of drag!
Alex lead the first pitch and i did the second. Valentine came along as a 3rd for her second ever trad climb - good effort all. Those overhangs are epic!
Second second! Loved the overhang! First trad with multi-pitch! Buzzz!
|Felix Ottey||09/Mar/14||Lead β||
Easy when you man up! You have really got to commit and do the move with confidence.
|Bob Peters||?/Mar/14||Lead β||
After having an epic on it on a frozen day in December.
Stupidly missed the massive jug above and hung on the rope after the first part of the overhang.
Lots of drama. Chris falling off, me getting the ropes tangled and getting stopped dead. Rain. Strong winds. What a great day! Made P1 on the second attempt.
Damn. Got my arse kicked good and proper. Couldn't make the overhang and took several falls before calling it a day. I will be back!
nice route with some lovely airy positions! Overall brilliant climb!
|brian watson||20/Sep/13||Lead rpt|
Problems pulling the rope through to thread the top two runners before swinging over the o/h. Totally pumped by then but managed to get over the bulge but couldn't reach the finishing hold. Gutted. Harry then romped up the climb with all the runners in place and no rope drag. I followed on blown arms... a very cold & windy afternoon. 9C and gusting @ 25kph! Not what was forecast.

Seen this in the guide last year and have wanted to try it since! Lived up to my expectations! Great climb!
Alex led. Paul and I followed.
Done as one pitch, great swing around fun though difficult to avoid rope drag.
Crikey, this was some lead. I placed a sling on a spike early on and then didn't place anything through the roof; this meant ground fall territory throughout the crux. Not my normal sort of climb. I felt bold and scared. The climbing would have been easy enough but I'm new to Granite and it hurt on my feeble skin. Seriously adventurous.

had the upwards and on wards blinkers on and wandered off route a little.
Placing the gear makes the first pitch pumpy,greasy due to rain few hours before,second pitch a pleasure to climb.
Pumped my left arm on placing cam,tried twice fell twice,next time?

Fell on first attempt lowered off and led first pitch clean. Belayed on grassy ledge due to drag from appalling rope work on the overhang
Robin Uren, Jack Westall
rich second need more small cams.
|mark schramm||07/Nov/10||Lead rpt|
Late climb, Mark led nicely then I got stuck and pumped trying to remove a peice of gear (that had to be left behind for mark to ab down to next day) then hardly any strength left even when passed the crux
Not a climb to try when tired ;p. Made the over hang but not enough energy to pull up on the slab. Nice 15 ft whipper. All fine though.
|Elaine Budden||15/Aug/10||2nd O/S||
bit pumpy but loved it
Followed dugs up this route, the best bit is over at the start! Big overhang feeling but the holds keep coming!
first HVS lead, perfect conditions.

with mike w leading, was really good, thought it was about vs.
Led 2nd pitch. Had to lower off at the overhang first try to avoid a potential pendulum, but climbed clean after sorting out the ropes.
lead first pitch. created lots of rope drag due to clusterf*ck and hat to belay on the grassy ledge. Alan led pitch 2
v. windy. Almost blew sling off of the crucial bit of gear!
amazing HVS - real feeling a flying on the overhang. Big thanks to Nick Stephens. Facebook pics
Despite some faffing with setting the gear, I still mamanaged to catch the rope on the overhanging block. This with the strong winds made it a little more challenging that expected :-)
|Duncan Campbell||16/Aug/09||Solo rpt||
soloed once before and led it before but yeah brilliant! hint: bridge it! its piss then
Second pitch is quite bold, despite climbing being easy.
Will Pettet Smith
absolutely amazing, i wish i had lead it for my first hvs. crux is actually a bulge near the top of the slab, the roof is easy and enjoyable if you are strong in the arms.
Great climb, powerful through the overhang with a nice slab above.
Retreived Steve's gear after others failed to follow.
awesome climb fluffed the overhang slightly still done it, lead all in one pitch

Great line, really good fun through the overhang. Watch out for rope drag though, felt like I was towing an elephant on the upper slab!
Had a look at it for a bit of a laugh and twenty minutes later i was up it, wicked climb
Oli Boyes , Dave Searle, Chris Barr
Terrific fun. A dream. And no real difficulties, except that I generated the world's most horrific rope drag. Took two seconds a lot of falls to clean it, though.
My first HVS. Wasn't planning to do one that day but I saw it, it looked nice and I decided to just go for it.
One fall on overhang... rest clean
Epic, awesome stuff!
Brian and Clare
|Justin T||22/May/07||Lead O/S|
Lovely climb with an exciting start. Ooh the rope drag though! My fault for not extending properly.
A cool head and faith in gear required for this one.. Did the crux first time but wussed out, and jumped off. No problems second time though although maybe it is worth getting some gear in on the wall between the OH and the ledge.. (run out!!) Despite its reputation the last bit was suprisingly fun, bold on good holds. Did in 2 pitches.

Committing and exhilarating
Got a break in the rain, and started up it. Got a big cam in, and was outward bound at a cruise. Sadly, the break above was sopping and slimy, and I just jumped off. I'll be back.
