Excellent route, I think. The final pitch would be a good gritstone route, and is good fun; don't be too bothered by the '5b' grade. Unfortunately, if you don't pay proper attention to navigation, as we didn't, then it is possible to veer off to join 'Superdirect' on P2. A bit alarming, but got up it anyway, to rejoin 'The Direct' for the last pitch. Splendid rock!

Meant to do the crack but got a bit lost and discovered we were on direct route! anyways it was great fun and i was really proud of leading the finishing 5b pitch, despite my foot slipping on the bridging part the first time(bad friction @ the mot in october the day after heavy rainfall!) and my plummeting 4m onto the ledge below=very bruised knees!

Definately need to be confidant at VS for this one!Great route up the middle of Dinas Mot.Led pitches 1 & 3.pitch 2 is sustained 4b! The hand traverse pitch was easier than i`d expected,and the top pitch is desperate,no gear till you`ve done the crux(bridge it!) and not easy up the flakes,bit pumpy. good lead by Rob on top pitch!

Perhaps the only time I've really lost my temper while climbing was on the last pitch of this route. I was doing the trying bridging on the start of the last pitch and received some doubtless well intentioned but very badly timed advice from clibers on the route to the right, just as I was (successfully, thankfully) exploring the limits of my technique and adhesion on the polished moves. In my stressed state, my response was terse and direct...but I did apologise once i got to the top of the crag. Strange how you react to stress, isn't it?
