Fantastic route - surpassed expectations! Showery and cold hands throughout, did in 3 pitches then abbed off into Great gully in hale storm. In 6 pitches as per the guidebook, I led the even numbers so I could avoid the 4c pitches, needn't have worried as they were fine. Didn't slow us down much, we still had time for another 3 routes! A great route, look forward to repeating it some day.

Pete lead first pitch, oli bailed after the first pitch. i lead 2 and got lost ended up doing the crux of 3 instead of finding the belay which meant my gear was about 2m away, didnt know where i was ended up belaying in the middle of pitch three. pete followed, got stuck, pulled on the rope he wasn't climbing on the runner that it past through ripped and pete fell a couple of feet, we both freaked out a bit eventually found out where we were and made it to the propper belay there was talk of abbing off as we were both quite shocked and felt a little sick. pete was to shaken to lead so i manned up and lead the rest with quite a bit of hollow sounding rock and loads of exposure. took 6 hours.....epic.

Bivvied at Goat's Water on Friday night, watched the sun inch over A Buttress, got on the route early while the crag was empty and bathed in sunshine, climbed this fabulous route of which I led pitches 1,3,5 and 6 and then sat smugly at the base of the crag watching the hordes queue and climb as we noshed and then headed back down to Goat's Water to lounge about like lizards. Was a special way to bag this route, which is only fitting for such an ace route, enjoyed it all!! :-D

A real classic, this one. I got the first and third pitches (guidebook 1+2 and 5+6). The first was a delight, continually interesting climbing. The start of the third has a traverse that looks intimidating but isn't too hard. The technical grade currently given here for this route seems wrong, I'd have said 4c was right.
