From the Conscrits hut hike up the Tre la Tete glacier, turning left up a big glacier combe to the Col des Domes. From here traverse the snowy ridge SW over all the Domes to the Aiguille de Berangere. Descend from this peak over mixed snow and rock to the hut.

Great route until Col de la Berangere which was falling apart in the heatwave conditions - tiptoeing over wobbly balanced boulders with big drops both sides.

A two day ski mountaineering traverse via the Conscrits Refuge. We were roped as a single team on the main ridge section. On the descent, at between 2500 and 3000m, I had a twisting fall and my right binding failed to release. I was choppered off to Chamonix by the PGHM.

WHen we did this it was in September and the route was very icy. The descent before Beranger kept the mind fully focused.

From Conscrits hut( 4 am start) along the tre-la-tete glacier to Col de domes easy going then over the domes Superb snow route fantastic views we had great weather descended via glacier Armancette rather than continue over Aig de la Berangere, Beautiful if not varied descent back to valley at Le Cugnon. Long day with lots of descent about 2700 metres in all!
