Think we largely did the right route this time. Pretty easy for the grade. The large grassy rising traverse was pretty gearless tho. Not pleasant. Bit of a scrappy climb all in.

WOW!! what a classic and brilliant route! The start was fun as if you approach the crag via the scree slope instead of coming up from the lake you can read the route start into any number of places on the crag, we were eventually guided to the foot of the route and the true start by a couple of other guys who were doing routes close by. Whilst looking and waiting for the start 2 girls beat us to the crag foot and started off up the wrong route thinking the same as us... they were heading off up an E2! Around midway up P2 we heard a very interesting bird making a single screech/ping sound similar to that of a smoke alarm with a flat battery.. no idea what it was but it was loud! There was also a cuckoo in the valley below that was singing all day long! Once at/on the table rigging a belay was interesting as there seems little to rig from/off, from here we went off up the Cyfrwy Arete (other writeup). A very good route and my first multi-pitch lead and first multi-pitch with Toni! :-)

Done in B2s. After a fairly dull/threatening clouds ascent to the start of table direct we followed on after James led Rose & Helen. Quite damp and slimy on the Table Direct route but lovely & dry (and in some sunshine) for the final part of the upper arete just prior to the main scramble. Awesome route & views!

Climbed up the cyfrwy arete via table direct. James lead it, I went up in between james and helen. Weather was cloudy but it cleared while we where climbing. Clear summit of Cadir (great views). walked down via the poney track. 7/8 hour day.

Led the whole thing in big boots - loved it. Have to say that if you tackle the steep wall above the Table and the other steep section a little higher - leftwards leaning runnel - then I reckon that the arete is definitely VDiff at least.

Started about 30m right of table direct start. Just climbed a line where gear had been left in absail after 3 pitches joined on to CA route got to table and called it a day due to light then found actual start to CA climb. very greasy and wet good day.

Easy climb even when wearing big boots and a backpack, but not one to get complacent on as it's a very long way down. Imagine it would be a bit trickier in wet weather. Good fun though and an excellent place for a first attempt at multi pitching.

did this on wet drizzly day ,would imagine it to be a great easy climb on a summers day ,but didnt enjoy it as very greasy and slippery ,did it in boots..definatly one to do on a nice day 3 pitches

Superb day out. Approach from car park opposite telephone box at 698153, up Pony path, branch left at cross paths near wall at 696142, to traversing path which brings you up under the north side of east ridge above Llyn y Gadair (go round the boulder fields, it's much easier). 3 long pitches to the table, 1 above the table then a scramble, walk to the summit, back down the main ridge to the Pony Track. Took minimal rack of wires and hex's.There's a bit of ab tat on a spike at the start of the pitch above the table, this takes you down to a horrendous looking screen.

Inspired by Yosemite speed ascents, we had to carry out our own for a laugh. Jogged up to the route past Lake Gwernan Hotel, summitted and down the Pony track. Car to car in just under 2h.
