Penny Lane* E3 6b
[Tricky top groove of Penny Lane (E3 6b), 3 kb]Start as for Inkerman Direct (ie up Wogs for 15', then skip across and up to the ledge with the peg). Around the arete to your right is an in-situ thread, clip this and move up to a relatively comfortable position where you can clip the rotten Mortality Crisis peg or, more sensibly, get the good nuts there. Hard moves up and right gain the wall above the groove and a couple of skips across gain the edge of Machete Wall which is followed to below the roof. Move out left to the obvious strenous crack-line between Machete Wall and Mortality Crisis which is followed, past an in-situ thread (replaced spring 09 - dyneema cord - stronger than it looks!), to good holds above. Finish up the last section of Inkerman to a peg belay / ab station.

Backed off the top section of this years ago. Bit of a battle but got it clean this time.

climbs beautifully, despite the slightly bizarre line. almost harder to read than to actually climb.

Ground up, one fall at end of crux then re-lead with ropes pulled but gear in place to previous high point. Final crack's go-ey when you're pumped!

Fell at the top. I like to think that it was because of the wet in the flaky crack and not due the jug I didn't spot right in front of my face. Rope behind leg big inverted fall.
