Surface Tension*** E5 6b
[Ellis Ash and Martin Reynard enjoying Surface Tension, Auchinstarry Quarry, Lowland Outcrops, 1 kb]15m. A great climb, traverse round over the water and start on the ledge a foot above the water, there is a good rock to put a sling round for belaying. climb straight on up to the overhanging tree at the top. One of the locals claims to do it in 45 seconds in trainers.

Consider removing the trolley directly below the route just underwater before a lead attempt.

Update - piton replaced 20/05/14

Top roped quite a few times to work out sequence, then soloed. Gear is a bit crap anyway. Fantastic climbing though

Belayed Topher on his onsight, amazing to see. Then went for it myself in fading light, got to the peg traverse, so dark couldn't see the footholds and popped off. The peg held (thank fk)! Came back the next day in daylight to dispatch it, despite a 15 minute shakey epic at the traverse. So psyched! Mental and physical torture for me. This is probably the best route I have ever been on.
Alejandro S - Lead RP - 17/Oct/10 with Dr Toph

Neearly onsight although the holds were chalked up and Alec couldnt help but give me some hints on the gear... Top climb. Really satisfying throughout.
