Without trending R at the bottom. Just starting to rain so done in a rush. Was my favourrite route when I was still at school. Seems less good now: the first pitch is unbalanced and the easier part is mossy. I remember it being all clean years ago but it might be rose coloured specs and bad memory.

Led pitch 2, weighted gear just before the crux. Definitely Type II fun!

Did the variation start up tranquility then traversing across. The climb was a bit of a dissapointment considering the guidebooks enthusiasm, but had a couple of good moves.

One of my favourite routes ever! Was a bit worried when I started underneith as there was quite a lot of visible black lichen but that was ok, despite a small drizzle from time to time. Moved up the thin crack in the middle of the slab to the bulge, due to an error in route reading (bad picture and poor explanation) I traversed left atleast 3 metres, making tricky 4b/4c moves on small holds to the left hand side, moved up over the buldge but no holds were there, realised my error, and moved back right which was a bit easier in reverse. You don't really step left at all, only about 30cm at most. Up over the small buldge onto a small ledge, place some gear and realised I had some slab work to do (not my forte!) which looked pretty poorly protected. Moved straight up at first, veering left, after 5 metres or so, found some relatively poor gear, moved up again and left a little, found a poor spike a few metres up which I hooked a extender around and weighted with some hexes. Finally I moved up and over onto a less steep but more lichen invested wall. Easy climbing but in a potentially serious situation, but I kept a cool head for once! Second pitch was realtively worrying aswell! Once in the niche, I worked myself up because I had no decent gear in, a tricky step right, and got some more gear in round the edge. The crux wasn't going "straight up" as the guide suggests. Moving left after seemed it. Looks really easy but is suprisingly awkward until you take a minute to figure it out, Dad found it the same. Really nice route, in a great situation!
