9 pitches. Nine pitches. The gigantic cascade that dominates the area. Scramble up the first 150m and belay. Continue up the waterfall with mostly straightforward climbing for 9 pitches. The ice can be of varying quality because of high water flow. © ROCKFAX

Whitmoreaa - 2nd O/S - 21/Jan/14

Reached the top, thought it'd be quicker to ab off than to walk down the road (couldn't have been more wrong.) Two stuck ab ropes and 4 hours later and we were back at the car! Epic!

Alternate leads though only 3 pitches of grade 2 with a bit of grade 3, after that its was more easy angled except for one more pitch near the top. Easy and enjoyable, we walked off to the road. Good day out

Went to climb Bolgen, but not in condition, so moved onto this. Soloed from outflow through some very thin and soggy ice, lead from bottom of steep section to extent of rope then ran out of time, so ab'd back. Definitely one to come back to with more time - maybe as the first route of a holiday

After rescuing the car from the ditch, we Soloed the first 2 or 3 pitches, then alternately lead the next 6. Abing down in the dark, is just as much fun as i remember!

An amazing day! After 5 pitches and the light fading we decided to bail and ab through the forest... providing much hilarity! The day ending in pushing the car out of the snow! Awesome. :-)

Sustained easy climbing, scrambled/moved together & finished in 4 pitches. Terrible descent through forest, I recommend abseiling back down!

Great first ice climb! We did about nine pitches with some tricky bits in amongst the easy stuff. Finished with a minor epic abbing down in the dark for several hours, back to the car at 23:30.
