Hidden - Oct/14

Ridge was in alpine condition, with quite a bit of bare rock & snow on ledges. Wore crampons throughout.
Ken Applegate - Lead - 31/Mar/14 with Mick

mjsmith1973 - 2nd - 31/Mar/14 with Ken Applegate

Harry Holmes - Solo O/S - 26/Mar/14

One of my longest days in the mountains at 16hrs. Hard for the grade with powder snow but probably a good route choice instead of the gullies!
kenneM - AltLd - 22/Mar/14 with Carl Davies

Slow going as there was lots of fresh snow, surprisingly little neve, semi-frozen turf, and ice that was mostly rotten. Didn't top out until 7.20pm. Tough day out but probably the best route on offer at the grade.
Big Lee - AltLd O/S - 22/Mar/14 with Alex Kelly

Smith42 - AltLd O/S - 22/Mar/14 with Lindsay Yule

In fairly easy nic, seemed much easier than the last time I climbed this route very good all the same

Powdertastic slogging. A couple of grade 4 moves low down then just swimming upwards

Hidden - 2nd O/S - 19/Feb/14

Awesome route. Exciting as there was no gear at all in the upper half.
alifin - 2nd - 18/Feb/14

Hidden - 2nd - 18/Feb/14

Very hard going unconsolidated snow aretes near the top and a real lack of gear on the whole route. Did well to get back to cic in daylight. Overall Hard
robgixer - AltLd - 20/Jan/14

Combination of pitched-climb and moving together. Due to powder, not much ice, unfrozen turf under a foot or more of snow high up on the route, climb was hard, gear was worse. We placed 15-ish gear in the entire route, including the (often poor) belays. Rob lead p1 (100m), P3, P5, P7 (100m), I lead P2 (10m; probable crux - above poor belay with no runner), P4 (80m), P6 (one tech-6 move). It took 7 hours for us to complete the route, back in the CIC just in daylight.

4* vote from me. Finished up Zero as the top part of the ridge looked buried.
Shaw Brown - AltLd - 24/Feb/13 with Loz

Bottom 3 pitches vergalsed slabs, quite hard for guidebook gade IV I though! Top half great condition. http://pjmountains.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/10-01-13-ben-nevis-winter-climbing.html

Stunning leading by Dave in difficult conditions. Unconsolidated in parts & several mini storms. Topped out after midnight. Happy to have made top of such a route!
EcoClimber - 2nd - 11/Apr/12 with Florence Larpent, Dave Barker

Ondrej lead cruxes. Moved together on the rest and finished up Zero Gully. Under quite a bit of powder with no useful ice at all. Probably V 5 today and harder than both the adjacent gullies but also probably ****!

deep powder with no neve or ice to be seen, very slow progress with little gear so retreated. Better to wait till later in the season

Far more snow than last time. Felt trickier overall as some of the snow was a bit cruddy and also because I think I picked a harder variation to get to the top of the initial buttress. Finished up Zero Gully again as the upper buttress was plastered.

Guided- crampon popped and banged chest hard against rock-thought I'd pranged a rib so rather painful after that!! Did the finish which does not drop into Zero gully.

An excellent day out, which culminated in Tommy getting lost on the golf course, the car being towed from the golf course by the police to get it started, and meeting Mark on the back of Mungo the Magnificent's enormous BMW motorbike at the roundabout in the Fort.
GaryK - AltLd O/S - Jan/87 with Mark Miller, Tom Curtis, Simon Yates

My first winter route of any note. Ironic since it required the full gamut of rock climbing moves - layback, jamming, mantles and rock-overs. Got off route at one point ending up in an steep ice gully on the West side - rope jammed round blind corner, Colin not amused! Great route.
