Led first pitch then john led 2nd pitch, after that I led up the ramp to block belay where we changed into short roping configuration with amanda in the middle. I led rest of route, finding way. Quite exciting on exposed areas with wind. Good ice on first pitch - we went up a shorter piece of ice at beginning of second pitch rather than the ledge. All in all a great climb.

Condition were very lean first snow slope into no five gully was very soft did not need crampons. The ramp was completely free of ice and snow and a scramble up the middle. The last snow slope was in tact but again very soft. The ridge was snow free apart from the very top. Good day despite the drizzle. Did the whole route moving together.

We had great conditions underfoot for this route. Solid neve and good ice where found. Unfortunately didn't get the phenomenal views this route is well known for, but the terrain in itself is truly spectacular. I think this route's grade is taking into account the exposure of the ridge- a sensation we didn't experience due to thick cloud cover- as the technical skills needed are at best low grade II (in the same condition). Will have to try this one again on a clear day!

After 20cm fresh snow overnight, we changed our original climbing plan and climbed this. Moved together all the way, where I belayed the second in one rocky section of 3 metres, which we found out immediately afterwards to be avoidable. Snow was so deep, we could practically follow the staircase pretty much all the way -- it was much easier than 2 months ago; definite grade I in today's condition. The weather was superb!

Done as a scramble in the wet, rather than a 'route'. A slippy slab, just after the rightward exit from No.5 Gully did mean I needed to get the rope out for some of the party of 10. 2 people didn't fancy it and headed back to the pub, leaving us in the wet. Too cloudy to get the benefit of the exposure but a great route up the Ben and it must be stunning if you can see anything!
