2 pitches. replacement as sheer khan's 2nd pitch was lost. 1st pitch: climb sheer khan slab and make a belay below the steep headwall. 2nd pitch: traverse about 5 meters left then follow the crack to the 3 trees at the top.

CathS 18/Oct AltLd O/S

Led the top pitch (crux). A few metres of good climbing with interesting and quite tricky moves up the layback corner (which is now largely clean), but otherwise didn't think the route warranted two stars. First pitch is pretty scrappy.

Split it midway to see if we could find the route. Not sure we followed it correctly, or if we did Shere Khan. We just kept on up the slab until we reached the top, which was simple enough. Taking the tick either way!

Must have gone wrong on P2, the line we attempted was very thin and in no way only 4a. Complete head wreck, abseiled off after reversing two thirds of what we thought was P2. Would love a photo (topo) of P2 to see where we went wrong.

Stevie lead and accidentally went up the finishing grove of 'Smarter than the average Bear' (VS 4C) instead of the actual route but this made for a much more interesting finish. I think a lot of people have been caught out by this.

Easy start to first belay, second pitch just below the tree belay area is the most interesting part of the climb. good side pull, walk feet up high and then reach up with left hand before reaching the tree belay. Abseil off with 60m rope is possible following same route.
