Western Hero >>

A steep and strong line that links some prominent features on the left-hand side of the main cliff. Start a short distance left of the awkward step-down in the path, right of a black corner.. 1) 4b, 10m. Climb the wall and cracks just right of the black corner's right arete to a belay at a huge spike. A good steep pitch on positive holds. The black corner itself is an alternative at 4c.. 2) 4c, 23m. Move up the blocks to a ledge, step right and climb a steep black vein to a ledge on the right below a large overhang.. 3) 4c, 26m. From the left end of the ledge climb up left of the overhang and move up to a crack that runs back rightwards. Near the top of the crack make a final puzzling move to easier ground that leads left to the top. © ROCKFAX

We missed out Rockfax's pitch 1 because it is wrong - actually Dominator Optional Start at E1 5b! Alice did a super job leading the hard pitch and I led the final pitch.

Led P1, Matt led P2 & 3 at once. Rockfax topo is wrong - south west climbs and cc guide are right. Lazy guide book topo - if they'd actually climbed it, it's obvious.

Some confusion in our party between the Rockfax and CC Guides, which have different descriptions. CC Guide's P1 = Rockfax P2. To start from the path (rather than the ledge above as described in the CC Guide) climb cracks to the left of a black stained niche/sentry box in the wall to reach start of Zig Zag (as described in CC Guide).

Sketchy moment leading P1 - pumpy forearms and awful gear placements but pulled through to the horribly slopey and polished belay ledge...to be honest I'm probably making this sound worse than it really was! Piers lead P2 and got to the top just in time for sunset. Last climb of an amazing 10 days at Bosigran - will definitely go again, so should you!

Great climb on a gorgeous sunny day at Bosigran, could have been the summer! Led first pitch of Autumn Flakes (HS) rather than the initial scramble of Zig Zag. Ollie led the steep black vein and I took the last pitch. Varied, lots of fun and managed to avoid to much rope drag. Nice moves around the nose and good step out onto the slab
