A tiring yet satisfying ascent - North Tower provided the greatest obstacle being very tricky to gain good purchase on some of the moves. Splendid setting and excellent to combine with Bristly Ridge later on.

Lots and lots and lots of snow!!! Very soft, did it without crampons and was ok but had a trekking pole to probe snow underfoot. Proved tricky on descent without crampons though!!! lots of sliding. Abseiled down grooved arete to retrieve lost gear few weeks earlier got it all back although proved tough to rack as it was all frozen solid! good fun day out.

2nd outting this and a jolly good choice, 1st trip to Wales, 1st 3k foot scramble. took in the "cannon" completed the ascent and decent in around 3.5 hours. awesome landscape from the summit.

Great scrambling higher up. Many tracks lower down, most leading in the right direction!! Done it 6or7 times now in good and very bad weather. Polished rock very slippy when wet.
