The gear on the first / second pitch is a bit sketchy, lovely climbing after that.
Oscar, Alfie, Lou
Pitch 1 is damp. Pitch 2 is a dream. And pitches 3 and 4 maintain some interest.
Really nice 4 pitch route in lovely valley setting
|Jamie Brown||24/May||AltLd O/S||
P1 in trainers as was horrible (wet and slimy), but pitches 2 and 3 more than made up for it. Fantastic route. Lead P2 and 4.
First 2 pitches as one, a bit delicate in the wet, not brilliant climbing after that
Very wet, led p3 and p4.
Hesitated about doing it as it looked soaked and was getting dark. Very glad we did as it was a lovely route, a joy to climb even when wet! (The move around the corner on the second pitch was very cool for a severe)
Top 2 pitches after doing Grey Wall.
Neil gallantly led scrambly first pitch, I got to lead lovely second pitch.
Did as 3 pitches. Lead P2.
Matt Hart, Cath Sullivan
Lead 2nd and 4th pitches
Mark Ward, Judith Brown
Horrible first pitch, second pitch very nice climbing
Gary H, RonC
|Peter Howlett||15/May/13||Lead O/S|
|Andy Graham||27/Apr/13||Lead O/S||
|scott quinn||24/Apr/13||AltLd O/S|
Not worth the stars. Overgrown.
Led first, second and fourth
3 pitches, lead the first and third.
Dom Hall, Cath Sullivan
|chris smith||14/Jan/12||AltLd O/S|
Bold first pitch due to the water and slime lead by dave in approach shoes. I lead pitches 2 & 4. Pitch 2 deserves some stars but pict 4 was a bit of a non event.
|Dave Richards||12/Nov/11||AltLd O/S||
Lead first pitch in wet condition with approach shoes. Lead third pitch with some confusion as to the line to take from the grass ledge.
|Rob Rocket||23/Aug/11||AltLd O/S||
unprotected but easy first pitch....led second pitch, which was better protected but more exposed...an 'airy' start onto arete, which was well protected....nightmare finding next belay
Adrian Fagg, afghanis Dan
Climbed this after having a nightmare on Bryanston so imagine my delight when the gear I needed to protect pitch 2 as still stuck in Bryanston!! A little sparse on protection for an Easy Severe I thought.
|Jeremy Wilton||24/Jun/11||AltLd O/S||
First choppy pitch, Mark led the steep ascent, I did the third..easyish..Mark did the top.
|Sarah Harri||12/Jun/11||Lead dnf||
Lead P1&2 (not sure if I went the right way on 2?) then scrambled off because it started raining quite heavily.
Elsa Fraga, Peter Wood
|John Holden||14/May/11||AltLd O/S||
Me p1 and P3, Martin led P2 and P4, stepped down from the belay (like it says in the selective guide!)which makes P2 worth the stars that the route gets in the guides. At least I have the benefit of knowing that last time I did the crux of Marilyn (HVS 5a)...sorry Julie.
|emma jo harrison||01/May/11||AltLd O/S||
scrubby boulder problem 1st pitch, very exciting second pitch !!, lovely clean flowing third pitch. Only did 3 pitches and scrambled off.
Led p2 but went off-route, going too high before traversing.
Alamin Zindanee, Richard Lizzimore
Dave Gruar, Allamin
Led p2; looks hard, feels easy. Nice route.
lead p1+2 together, got a bit nervous when the sling fell off the spike but the climbing was reasonably straightforward, the Jimbo did p3+4 as one.
|Jimbo C||27/Apr/11||AltLd O/S||
Climbed as 2 long pitches. I led, P3 and P4.
Imogen Fisher, Alex Grievson
|John Brayshaw||29/Jan/11||AltLd O/S|
what a great little route, P2 traverse is amazing. Pete went walk-about at the top - which was interesting
Led second and fourth pitch
|gordon henderson||21/Aug/10||Lead O/S||
|Dave Richards||14/Aug/10||2nd O/S||
First climb in a long, long time and was glad I could still climb! Mark Cardwell led me up it. Route finding was a bit tricky and not sure we stayed on route! Quite steep and exposed.
|Little B||18/May/10||Lead O/S||
Moving together. Slight route variation due to dodgy (loose!) handhold
I led first and third
|Rosey Posey||27/Jul/09||2nd O/S||
|joe king||27/Jul/09||Lead O/S||
climbed in 2 pitches
Nice after the 1st pitch, even in the rain.
Sam Bainbridge, jamie
Pete Wilkinson Sam Bainbridge
|victim of mathematics||03/Aug/08||AltLd O/S||
Led P3 & 4, ran together. A nice route once you get out of the initial gully.
Karen Hardie, Chris Wilson
|John Kettle||26/Jul/08||AltLd O/S|
Led all 3 pitches in boots with a student. No point in pitch 4.
|charlie barnes||13/May/08||AltLd O/S||
Joined by Andrew R on the second rope.
|Howard J||22/Jul/07||AltLd O/S||
Pitch 1 a lttle green, pitches 2 and 3 are great. Forget pitch 4 as it is a short scramble.
David Allen, Simon Hay
anna and sarah
|Andy S||25/Mar/07||AltLd O/S||
Got lost....but still nice
Now missing one very useful jug at beginning of second pitch!
Doesn't deserve a name either!
|Dave Wearing||12/Aug/06||Lead O/S||
lead the 3rd and 4th pitches.
Wet and slimey! Not a great climb, but at least got climb something! A scary route, glad I didn't lead it, pretty bold and one or two moves you wouldn't expect on a MS!
Sarah Birkett and Tom Murray
Sam & Paul
Led 1 & 3
|Simon Caldwell||30/Aug/04||Lead dnf||
Failed to find route at end of pitch 2 and abbed off
Wet start, I lead 1st & 3rd pitches
Take care on the first pitch. Pitch two is unlikely looking, but good. Nice route, deserves a name really.
Lead P2 & 4
Steve Brodie, Mark Lester
