Classic end to the day. Had me at moments going - what on earth do i do now!?!? but as soon as worked the move out it felt alot more natural - just was finding it. Flake sounded hollow as but knew/had seen 5 people go up it at least that day so thought it's fine - just don't want to be the person the day it goes...

Almost got Andy's rope stuck who did it before me and offered his already set up abseil rope as I had to ab for the gear as it was un seconded. To do this I had to wrap the rope round under the feature next to the chain to be able to abseil down the same line of the gear. Good as ever and worth the hassle.

Great fun, good protection all the way as well though on the first bit above the ledge I got two nuts in - one of which was a bit poor. Took a bit of courage moving out left, but once I got up there found there was nothing to worry about. Slightly strenuous placing the gear, but bomber all the way. Not sure what this "hidden finger crack" business is though - I just used the ones I could see! The view of Rivelin valley in the soft Autumn afternoon sunlight was a fine reward.
