Had abit of an epic on this one! Started it with the thought in my mind, that if I didnt like it I would just reverse my moves and not commit to anything as it was a slab (my downfall) and poor gear (as always with slabs). Beginning was easy (Matt struggled slightly more with this bit) found a crack about 1/3 fo the way up, absolutely laced it with gear, becase I could. 3 pieces in this crack, moved up abit, and managed to find one rather poor cam placement which wouldnt have really helped. Then looked up and thought... What the hell?! Wheres my jugs? Spent a LONG time fidgiting on this bit, feet firmly in a break and trying to see a way up a blank (for me) slab before the next break (out of reach by about 2/3ft). I moved right trying to find another bit, figured it was abit off route and might end up on the VS territory. Moved back left, looked around for some sort of nobble to stand up, only found a big pebble, which I certainly didn't want to commit to. Pondered about climbing down then suddenly something came over me, and I turned into the wall, found a poor smear, poor sloper pockets, and stood up, reached the big break and thought "Thank f**k for that!". Proceeded to stand there saying "I'm such an idiot, as if I just did that! That was so dangerous I'm such an idiot.". Slammed in some protection and finished off the climb. The final mantle is quite commiting aswell. A scary Severe lead for me, I imagine it would feel alot easier seconding.
