Reached the flare at the top of the crack and found the holds and required foot jamming to be not too my liking. So I held on in an awkward position whilst trying to find an alternative sequence, for longer than I'd like too admit. Finally ran out of juice and took a fall, after a little rest re tried the sequence twice more. I'd fully worked out the sequence but by this time I'd destroyed my arms, fully pumped, had too admit defeat.
