125m, 4 pitches. An old style climb that relied heavily on the old Arran practice of using turf steps. The upper groove in particular was mainly turf worn steps with little in the way of actually using rock!. The passage of time and its popularity decline has now made the upper groove extremly overgrown. The following updated description gives a very worthwhile climb. Albeit possibly making the name pretty much redundant.
1. Climb the right side of the pillar via Heather filled flakes. Keeping to the rock avoiding various vegetated patches. This pitch can be split in 2 but the belay is not the greatest and probably better to push on to the terrace and big block belay.
2. Behind the belay across the terrace. Traverse right across short slab to an obvious wedge shaped (pointing upwards) block. Stand on this. Step up and around left via ramp and right to Heather ledge. Cross slabs heading right to a Heather filled corner. Either belay in corner or swing up onto rib and belay in rock crevasse.
3. Continue up rib via easy slabs until a diagonal big crack (feet) leads left and up broken rocks to top.
