Similar conditions to when I did it (nice and icy), its much harder without the ice.

Check your glasses steve.
The ice was reasonable.
Have a look at the pics on here when it is banked out, and you'll see what it's like at grade II.

No need for the glasses, conditions last time I did it were slightly thinner than pictured but what was there was good and about grade II for that pitch. Also I was saying that without the ice it's much harder. Obviously many routes are easier when fully banked out, I'd suggest that if that occurs on the runnel and the snow is usefull it could be easier than a II.
