Rob went to stand on boulders as Dave and I were making our way back to car park after fine days climbing at Dovestone Tor. It had been quite windy and cold throughout the day but the top was bathed in golden light as the sun sank to it's nadir and the atmosphere was one of serenity and calm. No one in the team wanted to leave. Rob was silhouetted against the skyline. I saw that this was like a physical metaphor for this giant of a man who is humble about his climbing abilities
