Tied on around waist with bowline, slings and runners around neck... and black hair - must be 1970?

You aren't supposed to put slings around your neck? No wonder I can't climb very well.... although I do make a point of not coming off upside down.

I know you're joking as your profile mentions hemp waistlengths... Remember trying to get that one particular bit of gear that you need asap out from a tangle of a dozen others? Madness...

Aye, but it kept you focussed on the task at hand rather than worrying about the ground. In fact it stopped there being much risk of even being able to see the ground. Although at that age, you can't die. In your mind, anyway. :)
Captures the era nicely.

I had a yellow rope in (I think) 1974 so not far out?
PS It's still in my garage!
