Does anyone know if this sign was actually in situ, or was it staged for this picture?

Well it's not there now!

The sign was in situ for quite a long time,at least a year or more .I was on Gimmer Crag with Pete Greenwood when we saw FRCC members break it up and remove.About 1955/56

hey, that's fascinating! What was it made of, and was it fixed?
Rog Wilko - 14/Nov/11
What I remember it was metal, obviously brittle as they broke it up with a rock.I think at one time it was roughly fixed then loose.I was told once where it came from now cannot remember.

Looking on Google it says Amen Corner is a suburb of Bracknell,Berkshire...maybe came from there?
USBRIT - 14/Nov/11
I think it came from Amen Corner in Leeds, somewhere round Kirkstall?
