Cheers Chris, I see its common name is chicken of the woods, presumably that's what it tastes like?

It can be eaten but does not agree with some people. Also i think it can be poisonous if growing from yew but generally found on native oak. This year has been a good year for fungi. Nice macro picture

Cheers Steve, yeah i have noticed a lot of fungi this year, which made me start paying a bit closer attention. Don't think i'll try eating any till i've swatted up a bit, thats just asking for trouble!
