This is an edited image based on a series of shots I took on a short day out above Chamonix in October 2013. A storm was brewing, but the light was still good, and very flat, meaning that it was possible to catch a great deal of detail in the edit. Anyone with the knowledge could probably trace every route on the West Face with this much fine detail! This shot looks brilliant printed up large on fine art inkjet paper and copies are for sale..

Mine neither! I've printed a copy at just over A3 size, but it's begging to go even bigger. Imagine it printed at about 2 metres tall. The detail would still be there and it would be like being back there as you stood and looked at it. Now, there's an idea!

Great spot, that man! Exactly the effect I was aiming for. However, it got a bit detail-obsessive in the end!
