Excuse my ignorance, but it looks like dry tooling up an HVS to me, great training for when winter arrives!.

No, your ignorance is not excused. I doubt you would have passed comment had the crag been uniformly white. Yet it is possible and not uncommon to have a white crag with bone dry cracks which is both easier to climb and closer to dry tooling. On the day we encountered cracks glued up with ice, verglass and snow on probably the coldest day of the winter so far. Suggesting HVS is spurious bollocks.
