The climb has attracted a bit of criticism over the years as been dirty and over graded, something which I feel is unjustified! I believe this is due to the guide book description been no longer right. I have observed quite a few climbers starting at the top of the mud slope in the corner then finishing by the remaining tree....the original tree in the description was about 1.5m further right, and disappeared in 1998/9. A revised description is as follows..
Start just left of Acme Wall at a short vertical hairline crack. Gain the obvious foot ledge slanting leftwards, then climb straight up the delicate wall to a finger slot in the break. Finish direct.
The photo shows the slanting foot ledge below me, my left hand is in the finger slot [my finger pointing skyward was injured].
Final Note: A fresh claim for a new route has recently appeared on the Leeds Wall web site...I believe this to be the same as Acme End!
