After 6 trips up in the evenings after work (1 to scope out, 2 to clean, 3 to attempt the route), Neil Adams and I finally managed to climb this route! We both reckon it's a solid E4 6a, very steep and sustained throughout. Brilliant line and great climbing though. Not sure when this was last climbed, but the FA was Gary Latter and Paul Thorburn in 1995. Would love to hear if anyone else has tried it! Now clean and restored to its former glory, definitely worth seeking out if you're up the Cobbler over the rest of the summer!

having climbed this route today with John I'm very confused with what you are using in this picture. I had both arms buried in the crack with baggy hand/fist jams. did you climb the whole of the upper section (size blue cams) on the face?

I seem to remember I couldn't get any decent fists in the crack so for the very top moves (in this pic) I found a crimp on the face instead, I think at this point I'm standing up in to the left hand and then I think I used the crack again. Below this I believe I was jamming in the crack. Great to see others getting on this route!
