I soloed this so many times. Really, Really good route. No better feeling than just flowing.

Is there any particular reason why the photographer doesn't want to retain the copyright?
jim robertson - 07/Jul/08
as we're buddies and aint gonna rip each other off and it's hardly a million dollar photo and I can't be arsed to change it?
The second time copyright has been brought up as a topic in my gallery. I have one word: Calm Down.;-)

If the camera is your`s then it`s you`r copyright whomever may have taken the photo that`s my thought anyway, but if it`s not you`r camera it`s not yours to publish end of ! n.b- Solstice is a better solo !

It's not as simple as who owns the camera or who actually takes the photo. I beleive it can depend on stuff like who conceived the photo, directed the photographer etc. I have worked as a photographer's assistant where the photographer has gone for a break and left me to continue shooting a series of still life photos in a rented studio, with my camera which I had hired to him for the shoot. As he was the commissioned photographer and he requested that I assist him then I think I would have a very hard time convincing the law that I was the owner of the copyright.

to be honest though, all photography is about is having an expensive camera and pointing it at something pretty. to try and make out it's someones creative flare is just a bit crap.

You're talking out of your arse. All photography is lies and to be a brilliant liar you have to be very creative.

But on a more serious note, I was on that route last saturday and some of that slate is loose (look at the clean freshly exposed patch on the route). It could be said that you are playing a numbers game, eventually the odds will get you. There are things in the mountains and on the crags which are not within your control and you could fall while soloing and be paralysed or killed.

nah, twas bomber. Anyway tis but a highball. Soloing is not too dangerous, if done propperly and a life without soloing is unfulfilled. There is the odd danger, but more people get killed using ropes and i don't trust 'em.

I hope you live a long and happy life. I'll say it again though: There are things in the mountains and on the crags which are not within your control, unexpected and objective dangers which a rope may protect you from.

It's my camera, i took it. I don't give a toss if it say Franco or Dave. Lol. How much time did you guys waste writing all of that!
DaveWarb - 16/Aug/08
Solstice is a better route in some respects however this route does indeed flow.

This was my first slate lead followed by Soltice. Loved it! good introduction to slate.
