I have a Packard Bell Dot S2 netbook which I like but find quite slow. I've already upgraded it to 2GB Ram which is the maximum apparently. Why is this the case? can't I get a 4GB module and stick it in?
I am running Lubuntu by the way and might change to Ubuntu or W7.
If I remember correctly the mainboard in it can't handle any more, or that's what the service guides said. I've not worked for PB/Acer for a 3 years or so don't have access to the guides to confirm.
It's an old ass laptop basically. Put it on ebay and upgrade to something that isn't from 2010 would be the only way to move forward. As the other guy said the RAM is limited by the hardware and your motherboard is restricted to 2GB max.
