I love the comment "Never you mind" written on the north end of the Isle of Rona.
When you walk along the crest of the island or down to the lighthouse you see buildings that 'hum' and enormously thick cables running through the heather. The natural question to it all is 'WTF?' and the official answer is always "Never you mind"!
The deepest seas around the UK occur in the Sound of Raasay - hence the submarine activity. There's an MoD station on the other side of the sound at Sand, in Applecross.
