Who do people use for health insurance? If you've got cover against injury, have you ever had to use it, and if you did (sorry to hear that) what were they like?

I took a fall a few weeks ago and this now seems to be my wife's hot topic

i don't, had a look ata few but if i was honest about what i did it would cost a fortune to insure me... and then the things i was most likely to hurt myself doing were not all covered anyway..

gave up

Try Sportscover Direct, I'm insured through them but thankfully have never had to use it. Reasonable pricing, good cover.
Tend to use BMC to cover self and family for one-off trips abroad or such like.

For all your general climbing niggles, ie things that you need to see a physio for, its worth having private health insurance like BUPA or Westfield.

They also cover dental and optical stuff too, so its good if you wear glasses or contact lenses.

I'd rather have an allocated savings account that I will use to pay medical bills as and when appropriate, than pay for insurance that I might never use.

For inpatient care would rather be on the NHS anyway (having seen distinctly dodgy things happen on private wards!).
