Ha! I remember with fondness the youarsey days, and still have a t-shirt somewhere. But I think there's always an element of churn; people get older, have less time to spare, or give up either climbing or webbery and go and do other things with their time.
Paradoxically, since I retired a couple of months ago and so in theory have more time to spend posting nonsense on web forums, I have found myself posting less. Life intervenes, and this site gets pushed down the priority list. The time and energy I have has been saved for other things. I shan't be leaving, I'm just not posting as much as once I did.

I've recently been paying a little more attention to FB as a means of staying in touch with friends and ex-colleagues. As a networking tool I like it; as a forum for debate, I found it so bad I didn't even bother trying.
Despite the inevitable ups and downs, the trolling, arguments, mounting of high horses and all the rest of the local colour that makes up this site, there remain some high quality diamonds in the rough.
