Government have confirmed funding for another 4 years.
I can't reply to the original post, so have had to start another. Good news anyway.

Good news.

Any word on where the funding is coming from? The arrangement whereby policing was funded via DEFRA who were themselves facing major budget cuts seemed rather bizarre.

There seems to be funding from several agencies, I have little idea as to how this works but I'm sure there has been lots of politics played behind the scenes.
