In reply to Removed User: In reply to Removed User: I should have said, the final 2 are Birch Tree Wall and Promontory Traverse (both at Black Rocks; it's the limestone routes and climbers I'd really like to identify.
One of the limestone shots is a route called Memnon at Stoney Middleton.
In reply to BlownAway: I'm pretty sure the 4th one is Ilam Rock in Dovedale. Appears to be what is now The Gladiator E4 6a - being aid-climbed in the picture isn't it? Possibly no 5 also Ilam Rock, but I'm uncertain.
In reply to Rog Wilko: As for the first one, I have a hazy memory of a small cave like that near Gymnic, Ravensdale, though it's unlikely anyone would have lugged their bike up there. The bike may suggest it's quite close to a road.

The cave at Celestial twins has a 4' step up to it, I think it's either the cave next to Ilam rock, by the footbridge, or possibley the cave at the bottom of Pickering Tor, taken from a starge angle.
The bike rider must have come down the dale, from Milldale. (Something I do most Tuesday nights!)

Picture 008 is actually much earlier than the rest. It could date from anywhere around 1925 onwards, so it *could* be Kirkus but that would be doubtful.
There is a possibility that the chap at the back of the group could be Philip A Barnes who took a lot of photos published in the early gritstone guidebooks.
I think about your best bet would be go get in touch with one of the old timers in the Oread Mountaineering Club, like Derrick Burgess, because Black Rocks, High Tor, Dovedale etc was very much their patch.
