In the past, I've had life insurance with little or no loading due to the fact that I climb.
Due to the new(ish) circumstances of my employment, I need to organise some personal life/diability insurance. I've been in several exchanges with Scottish Provident, whcih seemed at first glance to offer the best policy for the proce, but after filling in the climbing questionnaire, they've come back with a loading of more than 50% on the policy premium and an exclusion on payment for disability.
Anyone recommend a good general life/disability insurer which currently *deosn't* load it's premiums too much for climbers?
I am with Norwich Onion at the mo - they loaded my premium by abut 20% on the basis that I ticked the "Lead Extreme" box (as opposed to the Diff and Severe boxes - i kid you not)
I was thinking of the easy E2s I can just about manage, they class Extreme as K2!!
My premium isn't loaded at all. Arranged it through a firm recommended by the BMC- give the BMC a ring and they will advise.

Was there - have tried searching under life insurance and also life "assurance" but doesn't come up with anything for last while.
I took up climbing after I took out my life assurance - does that mean I'm not coverered for an incident?
Or are you supposed to phone up the insurance companies and let them know every time you step outside your house?
Simon, is this a full "death and disability" insurance in force throughout the year, or a package covering climbing trips only? If it's the latter then the life/disability cover is nowhere near what I need. I'll ring the BMC anyway, I think. Thanks.
