The SPA aligns very well to the NZOIA Rock Level 1. As long as the logged evidence is adequate and the reference from a NZOIA level 2 instructor is satisfactory, the cross-credit normally goes straight through.
So there isn't a yes or no answer, but a very promising maybe.

In reply to ungracefulathlete: Interesting. I'm only going by what's on their site. What sort of problems did you have? Academic for me but I'd be interested out of idle curiosity.
I had no problems picking up working in NZ, and that was without an SPA. I think you'll be alright with an SPA and a decent log book, (was the log that got me the jobs)
