In reply to UKC Articles: Am I being naive in thinking that all this gear placement isn't very difficult? Of course, doing it whilst pumped and scared, is very different than trying to clip a bolt on a sport route, but still, it doesn't look like quantum mech to me. I suppose, the only thing stopping me is the inherent consequences should I bollox it up. I soooo want to have a go haha
It's not very difficult in itself once you know how. The difficult bit is, as you rightly suggest, placing it quickly and well while pumped and at your limit!
