Official Kendal Mountain Festival Trailer 2013

Here it is! The official new KMF Trailer 2013.

A Fine Line

A Fine Line takes us on a breathtaking journey over the spectacular snow covered peaks of the Alps as we join a small group of extraordinary mountain athletes in their pursuit of happiness and fulfillment.
Kilian Jornet is an exceptional sportsman. At only 25, the ski mountaineering racer and ultra trail runner is already a multiple record holder and winner of numerous world titles in ski alpinism and mountain marathons. For him and others born in the mountains, the challenges and dangers of their environment are part of everyday life. The search for happiness can come at a very high price, but the pursuit of their passion remains an overwhelming motivation.
“We can’t be sure we’ll find it, but we’re going in search of happiness.”

Cascada

Is this a vacation? Erik Boomer, Tyler Bradt, Galen Volckhausen, Tim Kemple, Anson Fogel, Blake Hendrix and Skip Armstrong hunt the remote Mexican jungle for the perfect waterfall...and the perfect shot. Paddler and cinematographer alike, we explore a world that is the beating heart of the river.

Distilled

The latest film from Hot Aches. Scotland in winter is an arena where mountaineers pit their skills against exacting climbs, often in ferocious conditions, and is respected by climbers around the world. Distilled examines what makes the climbing here so potent.

McConkey

“McConkey” is a heartfelt examination of the legacy one athlete left to the progression of his sports, and the path he paved to conquer his dreams. Shane McConkey is revered as a pioneer of freeskiing and ski-BASE jumping, and through his talent and ability to use his trademark irreverent humor, he inspired countless lives. In a new film from Red Bull Media House in association with Matchstick Productions, “McConkey” celebrates the life of one of the world’s ultimate innovators.

NotBad

This is a tale of epic adventure. A tale of seven brave riders who set out from the four corners of the globe to gather together under one roof in a town located at the ends of the earth. A tale with no beginning and no end but where a few things happen in between. Things like eel fights. Yeah that’s right... f’n eel fights. So watch this movie. Why? Because it’s 'Not Bad... 30 days of bicycle tomfoolery in New Zealand'.

Petit Bus Rouge

Hold onto your hats and get your tickets ready to join our crazy crew for a spectacular ride packed full of thrills and spills as we head off on a new adventure. All aboard the Petit Bus Rouge - we're about to depart!

With plenty of new tricks planned, and inspired ideas that will test the realms of possibility, talent and teamwork will be needed in abundance. Highliners, clowns, musicians, acrobats, climbers - there's space for everyone onboard the Little Red Bus. We don't know where the road will take us or who we're going to meet along the way but it's sure to be eventful and a laugh a minute. From the sublime to the ridiculous is only a step, and the laws of gravity are there to be broken. Hit the road and join our merry band travelling from Spain to Scotland, Brussels to Brévent, by air, land and sea... tumbling, flying, gliding and sliding, on a trip from the avant-garde to the extreme and all stops in between. There's never a dull moment on the Petit Bus Rouge.

Petzl Roc Trip Argentina 2012

Lying just to the north, the majestic La Buitrera Canyon was home to the Petzl RocTrip in November 2012. For more than a week, climbers from all over the world came together to share a common passion: climbing. Thanks to the hard work of a team of Argentinean and international route developers, La Buitrera Canyon, 5 km long with towering cliffs up to 200m high, is now one of Argentina's major climbing spots. For the tenth edition of the Petzl RocTrip, more than 1500 people climbed in the wind, dust, heat, and cold, for an unforgettable Patagonian experience!

The Boy Who Flies

Following a dream, Canadian paraglider pilot Benjamin Jordan travels to Malawi to teach children the joys of kite flying. There he meets Godfrey, a young man who has always dreamed of flying though has never had the means.

The odd pair tour the country on bikes, building kites with youth while motivating them to follow their dreams. They are destined for Malawi's highest peak where, after weeks of ground training, the two will attempt to fly down and make Godfrey the first Malawian paraglider pilot.

Observing himself through the eyes of the Malawians, Jordan must come to grips with truths about his own racial and cultural identity while Godfrey is required to reach deeper into his faith than ever before as he prepares to leap off a mountain, trusting that the paraglider he's been carrying will carry him in return.

The Crash Reel

The dramatic story of one unforgettable athlete, Kevin Pearce; one eye-popping sport, snowboarding; and one explosive issue, Traumatic Brain Injury. A comeback story with a difference.

This eye-popping film seamlessly combines twenty years of stunning action footage with new specially-shot verité footage and interviews as it follows U.S. champion snowboarder Kevin Pearce and exposes the irresistible but potentially fatal appeal of extreme sports.

The Epic of Everest

The official film record of the legendary Everest expedition of 1924 is one of the most remarkable films in the BFI National Archive. Its release coincides with the 60th anniversary of the final conquest of Everest in 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

The Last Great Climb

The Last Great Climb tells the incredible story of Leo Houlding, Sean Leary, Jason Pickles and filmmaker Alastair Lee attempting an unclimbed route on the granite tower of Ulvetanna in Queen Maud Land, eastern Antarctica.

Alone in the icy wilderness, conditions were good until the summit was in reach when, totally committed, the weather window closed and temperatures plummeted... Special KMF Screening with prizes and unique behind the scenes footage.

Valhalla

Weaving story and character with award-winning, face-melting backcountry ski and snowboard cinematography; Valhalla is a vivid explosion of color, character, snow, and nostalgic soul.

Exploding the boundaries of the genre, opening the eyes and melting the hearts of any story-loving soul. With hard-hitting ski and snowboard action complimenting a more narrative-driven approach than our past films, or perhaps any other ski movie before it, follow one man's escape into the Northern woods, and his wild journey towards satisfaction, understanding, and love in some of the deepest snows on earth.

That looks amazing! If you miss the festival can you buy the films? The Last Great Climb and the french circus one look brilliant.

I am pretty sure most will be either freely available, or for sale as DVDs and streaming video at some stage, but it is on a film by film basis and they all do it differently. Best of Kendal is a film tour which you can see at various places around the country and the rest of the World, although the list isn't complete yet and there are only 2 current UK dates. http://www.mountainfest.co.uk/bestofkendalfilmtour Alan

The french circus one is Petit Bus Rouge, a quick google brings up the site where you can buy it. I'm psyched to see the Tim Carruthers film, what a legend!
