30m, 2 pitches. A daunting Himalayan classic - then again perhaps not! 1) 4a, 12m. Climb the short steep groove to a stance. 2) 4b, 18m. The steep and slippery crack behind is the crux and leads to the easy upper ridge of The Arete. © ROCKFAX

Worthwhile. Tough moves to finish the first pitch and start the second, and a very pleasant finish up the ridge. Did as 3 pitches due to rope drag. I led second pitch up the twin cracks and up to the second pedestal on the arete. Not altogether clear when to come onto the arete - I went halfway up the wider crack/gully above the twin cracks before swinging out around to the right.

good long multi pitch, that we over did a bit. I lead but without a route guide to hand ended up leading up to the top, where the enormous rope drag made me stop, and let andy follow up. Then climbed rest of the way (+15m) to peak further left, to climb down, as a second pitch! Used a cam on the first over hand (very fluttery!)
