Lead P1 + 2. Tricky move up the groove on P1 - Didn't fancy landing on the tree! Followed by excellent climbing on P2, slightly run out but all the holds are there when you need them and the gear is solid on the upper slab. Did the direct finish on P3. Possibly would have preferred hand traversing the flake, which looked more interesting!

Well, One Step was the route we were supposed to do in the end but things didn't go to plan from the start. We were originally looking for Christmas Curry, thought we were in the right place and asked an older guy for confirmation. He said we were at the base of Christmas Curry because that was the route he was looking for. In the end we ended up doing the first half of P1 of Hail Bebe and the second half of P1 of One Step. P2 was also a disaster. I was too far left of the route, kind of directly between Hail Bebe and One Step. Which was kindly pointed out to me by someone. So I down climbed, removing my gear along the way. Jen and I then sat on a ledge for ages trying to figure out from the topos which was the route was supposed to go. Totally demoralised and none the wiser we decided I should just carry on with the route I had originally taken, plus no one else around us had any better ideas. Finished P2 in a fashion and Jen conitued up P3 of One Step. Many important lessons learned today...

Been wanting to do this for ages. P2 very good. Thought P1 more like 4c on the awkward cruxes. Holly needed a bit of help from the rope on the difficult bits of P1&2. Split P1 at the tree. Camping at Ynys but too windy and not warm enough in the Pass, so went to Tremadog. Still windy but warmer. After climbing and Eric's went to Coed y Brenin and did the blue and Cyflym Coch. Finished the biking at 8.40pm, home at midnight. A full on day!

First climb of the day after some heavy rain. Lead first and third pitches. First pitch was wet which made it quite scary though still fun. second pitch was brilliant, very balancy, glad I wasn't leading it though. Third pitch fairly easy, tiny holds but felt secure and big jugs for hands. A fantastic route.

Epic tale: Matt got the abseil ropes stuck at the top of grim wall direct, decision reached, I get the ropes, he moves the bags from the bottom of the fang to the road cus its getting dark. I do the top few pitches of "one step..", get the ropes, ab down, pull the ropes etc and hear "rich, are you ok?!, do you need a top rope??" replied by "Im coiling the ropes at the bottom!". And to this comes back "Dont worry, im coming up with a rope, just hang there!!". When I arrive at the road, Matt, George and Sam are all standing there,convinced blind they can see me stuck on the top pitch of one step in the clouds and are about to mount a rescue. I emerge and ask, "Matt wheres my shoes and bag?" as its now dark. In reply "I thought you were dead! So I left them at the bottom of the fang". Cheers buddy. Thanks alot. Lucky I carry a headtorch : D

The Welsh weather made this 3 star route one I'm not likely to forget. Halfway up pitch two on lead all was looking good, then the heavens opened up and quickly turned the crux moves to the 2nd belay position very wet and slippy. Hanging on there letting the rock get even more wet was not an option so I cranked on and got past the crux with my adrenaline levels sky high to the belay position to eventually bring up my very wet second (Stacey).

Climbed this with Barra and Hannah who led first. I led pitch 1, Chris led pitch 2, just as he reached the crux of the 2nd pitch, the heavens opened and all hell broke loose. Climbing the 2nd pitch in torrential rain was like ascending a waterfall. Ascended final pitch with the help of a top rope from a friend. Fantastic route, would like to do it again in the dry!

As 3 pitches. Led 1st + 3rd pitch. The 'large flake belay under the overhangs' at the top of p1 is a comfy stance, but means you can't see the leader for any of the crux 2nd pitch. An alternative is to continue p1 around the corner to a large tree, which gives a good view of p2.
