2nd P1. Pete had loads of gear. No run-out as other people suggested. Maybe we were good at finding gear. He did put a couple of small brass nuts. That's probably the answer to run-out. I led P2. It was more technical than P1; especially the thin layback sequence near the top. Pretty decent route with adequate gear. E1 is about right.

Three guide books; three different descriptions of pitch 2. Starting up the rib behind the belay before traversing right into the groove, then underclinging the big flake/small roof seems to be the way to go. Lovely slab climbing, real quality route.

Wonderful sunny day, baking hot at the base of the route. Some nice 5b moves up the starting crack followed by a fairly straightforward but pretty run out slab. I suppose it merits E1 for the run out. Got to the half way belay just as a couple of guys abbed in. Was ready to go just as their leader was as well. He was going for the route and I didn't want to argue so let him get on with it. Unfortunately he turned out to be mega slow and we got a bit cold waiting in the shade for 40 minutes. I was keen to get moving was was hot on the heels of the other team's second. An enjoyable second pitch but only really HVS 5b. Easy E1 overall. Did Shadrach before this.

My first E1, but really didn't seem that hard. Initial crack was steep and awkward, but juggy. Slabs above had good gear, and overlap was well protected. P2 had easy start, with great climbing following the crack, with lots of gear.

Retroflashed both pitches having seconded as a novice in 2003. Obviously hadn't noticed the boldness at the time, but getting round the bulge on P1 much harder and scarier than remembered. Run out 5b = E2 or did I do it wrong? You could step left early or as high up as poss under the bulge. P2 a joy, and much better protected after the initial bulge, with a surprisingly tricky finish.

Led pitch 1. Sweaty! where it says feels bold in guide should read is quite bold in places. Really nice techncal rock overs one after another. and never lets up even the move up to the tree was a lttle tricky. Emily's pitch was also very good with technical moves on smears and all sorts.. Excellent route!
