Spinnaker*** S 4a
[Dave Spencer soloing Spinnaker (S 4a) at Eavestone Crag, 3 kb]

Rockfax Description
18m. A great route. From the left edge of the buttress traverse out right round the arete to reach a ledge above the roofs. Trend up and right, past another ledge to reach a shallow groove which leads to the top of the tower. A short Diff down-climb is the easiest way off the back. Great positions and clean rock. Would feel like a big lead if Severe was your grade!

Very sandy. Ok route. Don't think 3 stars for me.

nick ferro - 18/Aug/13 with Oli Birkill

Great route, but I think it would catch out an aspiring severe leader, as would the down climb.
Jamie Brown - 2nd O/S - 21/Jul/13 with Paul Davies

Charlie Staincliffe - Lead O/S - 20/Jul/13 with Stuart Myatt

Nice route. Definitely airy and exposed!
Puma - Lead - 20/Jul/13 with Jamie Brown

crux felt like a 4c/5a move.
duzinga - Lead - 02/Jun/13 with Jie

papashango - Solo - 19/Sep/12

An excellent route with a distinct and difficult crux (harder for the short). Definitely at the top end of the grade.
Will Smith - 2nd O/S - 22/Aug/12 with Simon and Carmen

Hidden - Lead - 22/Aug/12

Quite gritty in the top half, hardly surprising given the recent weather. Still a top route though. Easiest descent is by downclimbing Yardarm (helps if you've been up it first)

Route looked in poor condition after winter so top roped to inspect, got spat off by slime, then got too wet and cold belaying to lead it this time! Descent was interesting, lowered two partners off the belay who set up ab anchors for me on big trees at the bottom. Definately coming back to lead it in better weather!
Tomber - TR dog - 29/Mar/10 with Stuart Hurworth, Dave Wilson

Tried it in the rain with boots, slid of a smear and was lowered back down to put my stickies on. Reclimbed without problem, though glad it was a top rope and not a lead! Good climb.
