Definitely didn't crush it, maybe a gentle squeeze? Yo-yo. Fell from the crux twice, then did it third attempt (without pulling ropes). Hard, but surprisingly protectable. Great sequence once I figured it out.

Lead was dicey to say the least, had some beta thrown at me that was subsequently ignored.

Got it clean, but with some prior knowledge of the location of the best holds. Will return for the lead.

Shut down! Initial section was damned hard, finally got over it but was just too tired. Will have to come back to finish it.

My first E4. I attemtped the route a week previously and fell off. Then I soloed it (self protected) the day before this attempt. Regardless of the climbing ethics, it still (2010) is one of my most memorable routes perhaps because I had to wire it so clearly in my mind to get up it. Well proud to have reached this level through consistent climbing through the years.

I didn't know who he was, but as the day wore on, I could tell Dave was a top climber. He mopped up all the E grades on the crags then declared himself warmed up sufficiently to on-sight Quality of Sacrifice. That was the one I didn't bother to follow him on as it was beyond me and I was knackered anyway. Great day. Thanks Dave.
