1st pitch very wet, water running off (Horrible wet Belay). 2nd and 3rd pitch cruddy ice with difficult placements. Route completed despite heavy spin drift. Descended ledge route in deep snow, gale force winds.

A lot of unconsolidated snow around but main ice pitches in great nick. Wasn't too happy with the screws on the crux (climbed left corner) but chewy ice made for first time placements so not too hard. Went right after ice pitches and finished up behind Carn Dearg summit buttress - long day!

Day of guiding, and it was brilliant.
Ken Applegate - Lead - 08/Feb/15 with Jason

Good Ice on steep pitch. Not too hard. Neil found a good ice column up to the right too.

Great route. Crux was steep water-ice but forgivingly hooked (still a bit pmpy nonetheless). Led p1, 3 (as full-length pitch including crux), 5 etc. Snow plod at top goes on longer than anticipated.

Crux ice pitch was steep and very pumpy! It was fat ice so went right up the middle of it. Went all the way to top out.

Led pitches 1 and 3, giving Euan the crux. Great climb, but crux felt scary, although never that difficult. Windy day!
JasonK - AltLd - 10/Feb/13 with Euan Boyd

Nice route with fairly intimidating crux. Was disappointed that I took the chicken line but that seems to be standard.

Great route, good lead by Andy on the crux, very steep ice. Carried on to the summit.
Martin Haworth - AltLd O/S - 22/Feb/11 with Andy

I led crux pitch; very steep for grade V and ice only about 6 inches thick in places so worth taking shorter screws. Finished up one of exit gullies in very unconsolidated snow....hard work.
